  • From 15th August 2025, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the FASTag Annual Pass.
    • Price: ₹3,000.
    • Validity: 1 year or up to 200 toll plaza trips, whichever comes first.
    • Applicability: All National Highways, Expressways, and State Highways.
    • Eligibility: For all non-commercial vehicles.
    • How to Obtain: Purchase through Rajmarg Yatra application or NHAI website. Activation is within two hours of payment.

Welfare Initiatives

  • Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced the launch of Atal Canteen, offering meals for ₹5 to workers, inspired by Tamil Nadu’s Amma Canteen.

  • TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has released India’s first manual for property rating for digital connectivity.

Defence Exercises

  • Indian Navy ships INS Rana and INS Jyoti reached Colombo, Sri Lanka, to participate in the 12th edition of the SLINEX (Sri Lanka-India Naval Exercise). The previous edition (11th) was held in Visakhapatnam, December last year. The exercise occurs in two phases: harbor phase (Colombo) and sea phase (17th-18th August).
  • INS Tamil, an Indian Navy stealth frigate, arrived in Naples, Italy, participating in a PASSEX (Passing Exercise) during its return journey after being commissioned in Russia on 1st July 2025. The ship also celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day in Naples.
